Burning fuel requires oxygen, and your engine gets that oxygen from air. Even idling your Acura's motor idle forces it to draw in over a hundred cubic feet of air each minute to keep running. To keep contaminants from being drawn through the intake where they can cause premature wear, the air must first pass through the air filter, which is made of microscopic fibers. Dust particles get trapped in these fibers before they can do damage, but once those fibers fill up, the engine has to work harder to pull air through the filter, reducing power.
If it's time to put a new air filter in your Acura, order one from Acura Parts Club. We have replacement filters for Acuras past and present including the CL, RSX and TLX. Like everything we sell, these are OEM pieces direct from Acura, designed specifically to protect your vehicle without hindering performance. Our site can find the right filter for your vehicle: just tell it what you drive by typing in your car's VIN or selecting the year, model and trim from the menu on our home page. Still not sure which one to get? Talk to our parts professionals over the phone, or send us your questions via email.
